So guess what? I found another bottle in the sale bin! I love digging through the sale bins and finding bargain polishes lol But sometimes, even with these big brands, the polish just isn't all that great. I really wanted to love this, it's lilac, and it has undertones of shimmer, both of which I love. But the formula was so hard to work with. This one's called To Buy or Not to Buy, and I say it's not to buy. First of all, for a creme, the polish was very thin, I needed 3 coats to have full opaque coverage and it's very noticeably so. I mean the color is beautiful, I do love that, but what an effort to apply evenly. I also never liked Essie brushes, I find them too stiff and always seem to pull the previously layer off unless you use feather light strokes. Maybe it's me, I gave Essie many chances and I probably will still buy them, but it's not one of my top polish brands.

What a pretty colour, Cee! I wish I were more surprised to hear about the formula, though--Essies seem to give me more trouble than other brands, especially the paler shades. Still, glad you got it at a bargain, and it really is a beautiful colour for spring!
ReplyDeleteIt's a really pretty color! I've never been huge on Essie, and I've tried... Something just doesn't speak to me? Glad you got a bargain, though, that is, of course, always fun ;)
ReplyDeleteIt's a beautiful color! Too bad for the formula but at least you didn't pay full price! :)
