Nail Art
So here I tried to kill two birds with one stone without having to swatch them separately. I used both Julep Mandy and Helena but realized after I finished, that the colors don't really go together that well. Both are super saturated, Mandy being the coral and Helena the "purple". I put purple in quotes because as you can tell, it doesn't really look purple in the photos. But when I look at my hands right now, purple is what I see. I took so many photos and can't seem to get the actual color to come out in them. Even while I was photographing them, I had my hand visible while looking at the viewer on the camera and you notice the color difference right away. Even in the daylight photo, it looks off. It's probably closer to the actual color than the others but still, not a match. Oh wells, you win some, you lose some.
The puzzle piece mani always reminds me of spiral bound notebooks. I remember how it looked when I used to rip the pages out, before they made those perforated pages where you can rip it out without breaking the spiral edges. The puzzle mani is super easy to do, just paint your nails half and half which ever way you want, slant, straight...and using a dotting tool, place the dots on the opposite colors with a small space in between each dot.

Lolly, a pink fuchsia matte. It was pretty streaky going on, so I did one coat more than my usual two. It took three coats for it to be opaque.
Phoebe, a bright Robyn blue matte. I liked this one much much more than Lolly and application was a lot easier. Two coats was all I needed, and no streaking for this one!
I had high hopes for Wednesday, I love this color profile. But I was so disappointed in the application. I actually had the most trouble with this one, to the point where I had to remove and reapply it. I don't know if it was just my bottle, but the formula felt really thick and it went on pretty gloopy for me. I love the color, but it was very disappointing.
Zuza is a fun name isn't it? The photo shows it true to color, a turqouisy micro glitter that went on like a dream. No pooling, no clumping and two coats left it totally opaque.
Reece is a metallic dark pink duo chrome that had a golden tint when you tilt it towards the light. Smooth application, opaque at two coats.
I was anxious to see how Adina looked on my nails. I liked that its more purple than the greenish silver undertones. I think it's supposed to be a duo chrome, but it looks sort of like tin foil wrapping paper? It might take some getting used to for me. Two coats is all you need and formula was smooth.
Goldie, is gold and metallic as expected. It's more of a yellower gold and is pretty bright. I like it. Formula was smooth and easy to apply, two coats opaque.
This leaves us with my favorite of the batch. It is gorgeous, I love it. It has a more tinny feel in real life but it's still awesome. The orange is deep and rich, the micro glitter makes it glow! Formula was smooth and easy to apply. This is two coats, and that's all you need!
I hope you enjoyed the swatches, I had fun doing them! Even though it took me almost 3 hours, but that includes pre-painting preps. Now it's time to find some old polish to send back to Zoya, don't forget to do your share if you ordered through the Earth Day deal!!

Zoya
I was so happy to see the Zoya box sitting on the desk this morning when I walked into my office!! I couldn't wait to open it!!!
As usual, Zoya includes spoons of their current featured collection, Beach & Surf with your order, free of charge. They also included the 2012 Summer Color Chart this time around. My order also came with a complimentary bottle of Grapefruit Scrub and Remove+. I think if your order comes to a certain dollar amount, you get free items. I just know that I was initially going to order only 6 bottles, and the scrub and remover was not in my shopping cart. But when I added two more bottles, they popped up! Trust me, I'm not complaining. The scrub smells just like grapefruit and after a little while, the scent sort of mellows out into a soft floral. It smells good, I keep sniffing my hands! I am anxious to try out Remove+ as I heard many many good things about it. Maybe I can justify spending more than 99cents on nail polish remover...just maybe -=)
I wanted another gold polish and Goldie was something that caught my eye. I have a China Glaze one I got as a Christmas gift that was part of 3 pack Christmas collection but that one's more of a micro glitter. Goldie looks more like a metallic creme. Oh Myrta, where have you been all my life!?! Orange, micro-glittery goodness!! Adina is a purple, greenish silver duo chrome, I'm hoping I'll get better results from this than the Sinful Colors one I got. And from what I heard through the grapevine, that it's more purple so we'll see. Reece is another duo chrome that looks pink and light gold. I can't wait to swatch all of these colors!
I never was a big fan of matte finish nail polish because I'm a true believer that nail polish should be shiny. The shinier the better is my motto. But I couldn't help myself, when I saw swatches of Lolly and Phoebe, I just had to have it. They are my first matte nail polish and most likely wont be my last. And the frosted bottles? LOVE! I'm itching to try them out, might be one of my first swatches! Wednesday....you are my second favorite out of the haul after Myrta. I have a huge soft spot for blue/greens which is why I picked up both Wednesday and Zuzu. I wonder if I can swatch them all in one night, probably not lols
I got tired of throwing away my bobby pins and using toothpicks or incense stems so I went on Amazon and found this set of dotting tools that cost less than 5 bucks! I'm excited to use it but I don't have an idea on what to do yet. They're so pretty and it comes in 10 dot sizes. Can't wait to use them!!!

I also got my Julep Maven box today! I chose It Girl, which comes with 3 polishes. Along with that was a nail file but I think that comes with all boxes. I was so excited to see two packages on my desk this morning when I got to work. I have one more coming from Zoya, I can't wait till that one gets here! Award
Paulina and Lacquer Loving Lawyer passed this award to me the other day -=D. I know it's somewhat like a chain-letter from what I gather but, it's all in good fun and I don't mind them because I'm all for supporting other bloggers. Halona doesn't mind creating these pretty badges for me either!
Rules:
Thank the person who gave you the award with their blog link in your post.
Answer the following 4 questions.
Give the Blogger Appreciation Award to other bloggers.
Let the blogger know you awarded them.
The Questions:
How long have you been blogging?
What the 1-2 reasons why you started blogging?
What types of blogs do you like to follow/read?
What is 1 thing you would like to improve on as a blogger/on your blog?
My answers:
I started in January so, three or so months.
I painted my nails almost every other day, and my gf was like, why don't you start a blog? I can handle your page and all you need to do is paint your nails and write about them. So that's how it all started.....
I read alot of food blogs along with nail blogs. And here and there I'd dabble with the gossip sites lol
I'd like to post more often but as of right now, I can't seem to find the time.

*Swoon* Oh Milani 3D Holo "Digital"....how pretty you are! I LOVE LOVE LOVE this polish. It's absolutely gorgeous! I can't stop staring at my hands, I am keeping this polish on forever...well until it chips lols. The pictures don't capture how shiny it is, my fingers look like they're gem tipped! Digital is a pink holo, with silver and pink sparkle when the light catches it. I don't know what else to say but I love it. Anyone who loves pink, needs to get this, right now! -=D I wont steer you wrong lols
Another Milani 3D Holo, this one's called Hi-Tech. I could've sworn it was green when I bought it but once you take a closer look you'll see it's more than just another green. Is it gold, is it green, is it golden green, what are you doing to me eyes!? These Milani 3D Holos are a dream going on, they're almost too good to be true!
This is only the first two, there will be more to come. I couldn't bring myself to take off Digital...lols

Unfortunately, I didn't find nail polish at Target worth
getting, so no haul post -=(. But good news is, I just placed a SUPER order on Zoya using their Earth Day Nail Polish Exchange coupon EARTHZOYA2012. Follow the link to check out the rules and what you need to do to get 50% off your order!
After multiple tries and being
unsuccessful with a splatter mani, I just wanted to keep my nails one color. I don't know why, I did what the tutorial says. But when I
blow into the straw, nothing comes out...and when it did splatter, it
went all over the paper towel instead of my fingernail. Oh wells.... I told Halona I painted my nails baby blue and wanted to just leave it as is, she suggested a nail art she saw online. It was very cute and looked pretty simple for me to do at 1:00 am lols. It came out nice, I really like it and am glad she suggested it!
This reminds of this little story on Yo Gabba Gabba about a boy who was afraid of bees. The Munchkin loves Yo Gabba Gabba and she loves dancing along with them. And her dad spoils her with all the dolls, pillows, blankets..the list goes on and on and on and on lol She's my little dancing queen!

Icing,
Spoiled
I was having an off night last night. I literally painted my nails 3 different colors before settling on keeping the black on. But not because I liked it, more so the fact that it was almost 2:00 am and I didn't want to spend the time taking off black polish. I don't think it came out bad, I just thought it was a tad bit boring. I started with a pastel, went to a jewel tone, then ended up with black, go figure lols. On my ring finger, I'm wearing Icing's Vampire Blood. I'm not sure if you can see in the photos, but it's a fuchsia glitter in a black base. I thought it would be more noticeable so I used it as an accent nail but it pretty much blends in with the rest. It looks like I messed up and missed a finger. I wanted something bright to lighten up the black a bit, so I went with Icing's 80's Prom Queen, which many of you know I love! Visually Slimming by Spoiled is my go to black polish, but it's running low and I really don't like the brush. Is it me or are all Spoiled polishes have that one side corner and one side rounded flat brush?? Oh wells, you win some and you lose some. I broke out the new SV last night and it was such a god send. The old one is like 2/3s empty and the last third is getting really thick and goopy, I might just have to chuck that bottle and call it a loss.
I'm heading to the Super Target in Queens Center Mall tonight after work. I told my husband I'm going there because they have a big produce section but secretly am going to check out nail polish. -=D I would walk to Ulta in Rego Park but I chose the coldest day this week to wear a dress and new sandals, so I'll probably skip it tonight. So wish me luck, hopefully I'll have a haul post tomorrow! -=D
By the way, here's a pic of the sandals I'm wearing today. I bought
them down in Tampa last year when we went for Thanksgiving. There's this
sandal store in Citrus Mall, that I go to every time we're visiting my
in laws, and this style of sandals is my favorite. They don't hurt my
feet and I can walk forever and a day in them. I have 3 pairs that are
very similar style-wise and I don't want to throw away the first pair
that I've worn down to the bone lols For someone who paints their finger nails every color in the world, I have a pretty tame pedicure!

C is for current Craving: Now this is a tricky one. I'm almost ALWAYS craving cake. Moist yummy cake..mMmm... I once had a dream that my face was covered in blisters and I looked like a reptile, I woke up crying. And of course, I got shingles on my right arm after having the Munchkin....and trust me, you DO NOT want to have shingles, EVER! G is for Goals you have for yourself: I'm aiming to leave my firm within the next year or so, and become a full time stay at home mom. I'm hoping that will happen....depending on if we relocate out of NYC. H is for Hometown: Brooklyn, New York! I is for something Important: My family. J is for current favorite Jam: Grape? lol J/K, I have this song by Rox, No Going Back, stuck in my head, she's not as well known as some other artist out there, but I love it just as much.

Q is for Quote: Happiness is like peeing in your pants, everyone can see it but only you can feel the warmth! R is for Random fact about you: I have a mild case of Trichotillomania. I pull my hair, but it's not as bad as it used to be. Considering how much hair falls out naturally now that I'm older, I don't need to help it along. I don't know how some women carry their child until they're 2-3! X for your last X-ray: The last x-ray I had was for my teeth. Hello my lovelies! I started a Facebook Page today and it was more complicated than it has to be lols Anyways, its still needs touching up, and I will work on it periodically with the help of Halona. Thanks again for being the best ever! Absolutely Cee Facebook Page
I love this mani! Even though it took me so long to do, it was totally worth it in the end. At first I attempted to paint on the green tops manually with a nail art brush but that didn't work out. I eventually had to redo my pinky and ring finger. I didn't want to use scotch tape because I always end up leaving a piece on my nail when removing it, which is what happened on my ring finger. I settled on using blue painters tape, it peeled off fairly easily and didn't rip midway. Don't they look juicy and scrumptious?

Sinful Colors' Feeling Great is a gorgeous bright fuchsia. This is two coats, formula is smooth and easy to apply. It's definitely going to be used in the near future lols.
Sinful Colors' Boogie Nights is a rosy orangy pink color. I seem to have alot of the same shade of orangey pinkish red, I guess it's cause I love this color lols. I thought the color would wash out my skin a bit but it didn't. This is two coats, it was a bit thicker than Feeling Great but still very easy to work with.
Sinful Colors' Let Me Go is a strange color. I bought it because the bottle looked like a purple silver duo chrome. But once you paint it on, the main color you see is silver. It was a bit streaky and the formula was thin. This was two coats, and it still seemed like it was missing something. I really wish there was more purple visable.
Revlon's Popular is a mixture of small hexagon and silver glitter in a cream pink base. I went picture crazy with Popular lols. I wanted to show you how dense the glitter is, both hexagons and silver glitter was scattered pretty evenly throughout the whole nail with just two coats. It's a really pretty color to wear alone, but I will need to find a contrasting jelly to pair it with.
I wanted to tone down the silverness of Popular, so I added a coat of Brucci's French Petal over it. It didn't change it much, but added a pink sheen over the harsher glitter.
I've been trying to find Cinderella for a very very long time as some of you might know from my plea a few posts ago lols. It's ever so lovely as everyone praises it to be, but, it's lighter than I was expecting. Don't get me wrong, I still love it!
Thank you to everyone for the helpful tips on where to find it and for
those who were willing to do swaps! I'd love to do a swap with anyone
who wants to still! -=)
I've seen this before and been wanting to try it out for the longest. Cinderella was a good base to use for this mani, it gave it a nice airiness. I didn't want to use a too stark of a white for the clouds, so Essie Marshmallow was a good soft white to use to make super fluffy clouds. Initially I picked out two colors for the balloons, but ended up only using one because anymore than two balloons on each hand would make the mani look really tacky. I chose Sinful Color's Ruby Ruby in the end for a bright red balloon, which contrasted the cloudy sky nicely. And ended with Spoiled's Visually Slimming for the balloon strings. I was pretty satisfied with how this mani came out, it's both fun and cute. You can see an outdoors sunlit version of the mani in the bottom right photo which is more true to color than the other two.

Sorry, I know this isn't nail related but I just can't help myself. -=) I'm hoping to have a separate tab for this in the future, but right now it's here. Hopefully someone else enjoys this as much as I do!
Halona says they look like gumballs, and after staring at them for a while they actually do. I loved Lindsay's Top Tomato so much, that I kept on as my mani. I used Brucci colors for the dots also, Pink Flamingo, Cindy's Lilac Rose and Gianna's Rockin Blue. The pink and lilac are kind of similar and is pretty muted over the bright orange/red base. Can't say that about the baby blue now! lol Don't mind my oily cuticles, they needed to be moisturized after swatching. Speaking of swatches, I will be posting the swatches from the Sinful Colors haul soon!

Here are my swatches of the Brucci Haul from a few days ago. Some were good, some were bad, but overall, I'm happy with what I bought. Hope you guys like it!
Lindsay's Top Tomato was my favorite of the bunch. It's a bright red with a hint of orange tinge, just like a ripe tomato! The formula was a tiny bit thicker than the usual Brucci, and didn't need more than 2 coats. It's a lovely spring red.
Misty mocha is a rosy dark pink with a hint of mauve. It's a pretty color but it feels a bit older? I don't know how else to explain it lol. This is two coats.
Camille's A "Blast" is a bright but not neon orange. It reminds me of orange runts for some reason. The formula was a bit runny and thin. This is three coats and it still is a bit blotchy. I wouldn't wear it alone.
Pink Flamingo is just that! It reminds me of those plastic pink flamingos you see in peoples front yards. This is also 3 coats, with a bit of blotching. I don't know if I'm sold on this pink yet, I'd have to try it again one day.
Green with Envy was very runny, more so than the others. This is also 3 coats, but still didn't come out smooth. This green reminds of green apple candies. It kind of washes out my skin color, I probably wont wear it alone but will use it for nail art.
I finally got Cinderella!! Yay! I was trying my luck at the same Walgreens I went to last time where I didn't see the Sinful Colors display. This time, right when I walked in, the display was in my face! This wasn't until after I hit up the beauty supply store again, where I had a hard time choosing the 5 I bought. I picked up those and a bottle of Seche Vite since I was running low. Here's a list of my haul items in the order of the photo:
Brucci
Lindsay's Top Tomato
Misty Mocha
Camille's A "Blast"
Pink Flamingo
Green With Envy
Sinful Colors
Feeling Great
Boogie Nights
Let Me Go
Cinderella
I noticed I picked mostly spring colors and alot of reds/pinks. One color I chose in particular, isn't usually something I like. I don't really like chromes, so Sinful Color's Let Me Go was a surprise to me. But I love purple, so why not? It's the only chrome I have in my stash, maybe it wont be my last!
I stayed home from work yesterday because the little Munchkin has a cold. Poor thing is both stuffy and runny and mouth breathing makes her drool like a fountain. She had trouble sleeping, which means daddy migrated to the couch while she "slept" with mommy. Every hour she would wake up stuffy and whiney. So I gave in and got some Children's Triaminic night strips from Rite Aide, gave her one as soon as we paid (she did NOT like it at all) and went grocery shopping. By the time we got to our front door, I noticed she was nodding off. I took advantage of the quiet time and took a nap myself.
Well, since we were already at Rite Aide, I figured I'd pick up some Easter colors. I found the Brucci rack which I never noticed before and picked out four colors. I only used two for this mani, French Petal is the pink and Cindy's Lilac Rose is the purple. The teal I used is Gianna's Rockin Blue and the baby blue is Victoria's Blue Eyes. I didn't have a Brucci yellow so I used Sally Hansen's Mellow Yellow. The photos show the teal and baby blue to be very similar but in real life, the teal is much much greener. The pink is really sheer, and after two coats, it looks kind of jellyish. Which gives me the idea of using it for a jelly sandwich. I also bought a bottle of Revlon's Popular wich is a silver glitter with a pale pink base. I might use it for that! And this is my attempt at Easter eggs...lols

7 things about me:
I'm a mommy to a beautiful 13 month old little girl whom I refer to as the munchkin.
My husband says I have OCD...but that's his opinion lol
I loveeeeeeee sweets.
I'm kind of impatient....I think that's part of being a native New Yorker. And I wonder where the munchkin gets it from...lol Guess it's from her dad -=X
I have this thing about dirty dishes. I hate washing dishes, but I can't stand them being in the sink so I wash them immediately after dinner or before we even start eating. I also don't think anyone else can wash them as clean as I do, so I end up re-washing them if my husband washes them lols. I guess I do have OCD...just a little...
I like things put in a certain way/order...in the same place, I usually can tell when something is moved. DAMN you OCD!
I LOVE shoes. High heels to sneakers, all footwear, no discrimination. lols
My bff Halona made me a cute blinkie badge and I wanted to share it with you guys! Feel free to grab it and it'd be nice of you to link me so I can see it :D. Are you guys interested in these? If so, I'll ask her to make some in different colors/shapes.
My husband has this pacman blanket, it's like a gigantic screen shot! It gave me the idea, maybe I could put that on my nails lols And here we are! The munchkin was very fussy today so this mani was done in two intervals. I painted the solid colors in the morning while she was taking her first nap. My left hand has Joe Fresh's Papaya on the pinky, Joe Fresh's Cobalt on the middle finger and Spoiled's Visually Slimming on ring finger, index finger and thumb. Right hand has Sinful Color's Glass Pink on the pinky, Sinful Color's Ruby Ruby on the ring finger, Brucci's Victoria's Blue Eyes on index finger and again, Spoiled's Visually Slimming on middle finger and thumb. I used so many colors, I had to take a photo of the bottles to remember which ones I used! When she went down for her afternoon nap, I finished up the figures. I did not have any polishes the color of pacman, I had one yellow but it was too light and bright. So, I mixed it myself! I used the yellow I had, mixed in a drop of orange, and voila! I messed up a little on Ms Pacman, lol the bow looks weird, I forgot her eyes and most important, I forgot her mole! My husband mentioned she looks like a vampire! lols The dots and eyes are made with Essie's Marshmallow and the pupils are Cobalt. Besides Ms Pacman looking like a bloody vampire, I think everything else came out mighty fine looking! I'm very happy with the results. I hope you guys like them too!!
I'm a working mom divulging in her obsession with nail polish in between feedings, diaper changes, a full time job and a very patient husband. Thank goodness for Seche Vite!
