Halona and I have been wanting to hit up the Hester Street Fair since we heard about it last year but never got to it until yesterday. So we took the Munchkin out for a little excursion down to the Lower East Side. It was small, smaller than we thought it was. You can see in the photo, two rows of booths, and there is one more row to the right, and it extends to the back about 15 booths down. I thought it would be in a huge lot or something, I don't even know why! LOL Maybe I misinterpreted the photos I've seen from other people who went. Anyways, it was fun regardless! We ate some, had some lemonade and I bought the Munchkin a handmade stuffed raccoon from Hazel Village, which they monogrammed! I think I love it more than she does LOL I only took a couple of photos, it was too crowded and the Munchkin was getting a bit ornery.
The first thing we saw was this little stand outside the entrance with nail polish! So immediately I was drawn to it. It was an indie brand Cirque Colors. They were just alright, I didn't find them to be anything special or wow. They were priced at $12-16 dollars which I found kind of overpriced but it was fun to see -=D
I saw something else that caught my eye AND my nose! Filthy Farmgirl, homemade 100% natural soaps! They smelled awesome! Too bad I don't like using soap, or I would've bought some. The names are hilarious! Well that's all the pics I took from the Hester Street Fair, if any of yous are in NYC and haven't been there yet, it's worth a visit. There's food towards the back but we already ate lunch so we didn't indulge but they all smelled pretty good.

LOL the name of those soaps!! i'm curious as to what they smell like :D
ReplyDeleteseeing your polish pics got me excited too, but damn they're pricey! you'd think they'd be cheaper since you're paying for them in person, and s+h fees are excluded and all
Well the overall smell was lavender, I smelled it all the way outside the fair area and it smelled goooood!!
DeleteYeah, I thought it was a bit steep for the polishes, and they looked smaller than the regular sized polishes too!
I don't use anything with scent as it interferes with my perfume, but I would get a couple of those soaps just on sheer principle... so funny! That is way steep for an indie polish, but fun that they were there. Sounds like an awesome way to spend a Saturday. :)
ReplyDeleteI think if I get it, I would use it as an air freshener or stick it in my closet..
DeleteLOL those soap names really are hilarious LOL
ReplyDeleteSounds like you had a fun trip, thanks for sharing :)
LOL Thank you! They were super funny and the people selling them where characters themselves!
