I've Been Framed!

Ricky's Mattese Elite Lilac Me Over
This here is another one from the batch my husband bought me for Mother's Day.  It's called Lilac Me All Over.  I couldn't for the life of me, get the color to come out correctly in the photos because of how light the lilac tinge is.  Basically you can only see it with the naked eye and you have to look pretty damn close LOL  Initially, I thought it was a grayish white but I guess I was wrong lol.  Application was a bit hard because it turned thick pretty quickly, but it wasn't unexpected for this kind of base color.  I actually was expecting a lot worse.  Two coats is pretty much all you need to cover up the streaky first coat.  I have to say, if I didn't already make up my mind to do what I have coming up next?  I would've left this color on, it was very pretty on it's own!
Ricky's Mattese Elite Temptation
I've been wanting to do this for a long time.  I've seen it being done by many bloggers and always wondered how it was achieved.  Well yesterday I came across someones post and she explained that all she did was tape the tip of her nails to get the straight line and free handed the rest.  So I thought to myself, hey that doesn't sound too hard.  It's not like I had to take a paint brush and free hand a frame around my nails, I can do this!  So yeah, I took my stripping tape and went to town!  I chose another one of my husband's stash, Temptation, it's called.  I noticed that these Mattese Elite polishes thicken up pretty quick, even with this blue metallic color.  You might be able to tell my pinky has a slight bulge because the polish was gunking up while I was trying to perfect my center.  For a first time, I think I didn't do too bad.  If only I had a steadier hand lol

  4. This looks great! I've had this on my to-do list for a while but I know I can't freehand the borders so I'll keep waiting until I think of a better way to do it.

My boyfriend tends to like the same colors I do, so when he picks one out for me it's exactly what I like...so no diversity happens.

    1. Its always great when the bf/husbands are supportive of what you like. I didn't care what colors he got me, just the fact that he got them was awesome!

I can't say the borders were easy, but they certainly weren't as hard as I thought they would be. Give it a try, it might surprise you!
