I was having an off night last night. I literally painted my nails 3 different colors before settling on keeping the black on. But not because I liked it, more so the fact that it was almost 2:00 am and I didn't want to spend the time taking off black polish. I don't think it came out bad, I just thought it was a tad bit boring. I started with a pastel, went to a jewel tone, then ended up with black, go figure lols. On my ring finger, I'm wearing Icing's Vampire Blood. I'm not sure if you can see in the photos, but it's a fuchsia glitter in a black base. I thought it would be more noticeable so I used it as an accent nail but it pretty much blends in with the rest. It looks like I messed up and missed a finger. I wanted something bright to lighten up the black a bit, so I went with Icing's 80's Prom Queen, which many of you know I love! Visually Slimming by Spoiled is my go to black polish, but it's running low and I really don't like the brush. Is it me or are all Spoiled polishes have that one side corner and one side rounded flat brush?? Oh wells, you win some and you lose some. I broke out the new SV last night and it was such a god send. The old one is like 2/3s empty and the last third is getting really thick and goopy, I might just have to chuck that bottle and call it a loss.
I'm heading to the Super Target in Queens Center Mall tonight after work. I told my husband I'm going there because they have a big produce section but secretly am going to check out nail polish. -=D I would walk to Ulta in Rego Park but I chose the coldest day this week to wear a dress and new sandals, so I'll probably skip it tonight. So wish me luck, hopefully I'll have a haul post tomorrow! -=D
By the way, here's a pic of the sandals I'm wearing today. I bought
them down in Tampa last year when we went for Thanksgiving. There's this
sandal store in Citrus Mall, that I go to every time we're visiting my
in laws, and this style of sandals is my favorite. They don't hurt my
feet and I can walk forever and a day in them. I have 3 pairs that are
very similar style-wise and I don't want to throw away the first pair
that I've worn down to the bone lols For someone who paints their finger nails every color in the world, I have a pretty tame pedicure!
1 coat SH DD

Pretty mani!
ReplyDeleteThank you!
DeleteI love the black and pink together. I know how you feel about off nights, I've had many myself! Love the shoes!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Yeah I'm hoping tonight would be better..
DeleteInstead of chucking your old SV, keep it, and keep adding your gunky SV to it as you run low. You can use it as a glitter tamer!
ReplyDeleteOOH Thank you! That sounds like a great idea!
DeletePretty mani! The black and pink go great together! :D
ReplyDelete~ Yun
Thank you! I love pairing a bright color with black!
Deleteah i love your sandals!! and black and pink are a great combo!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much!
DeleteI'll do the same thing: try out a bunch of colors before I finally choose one. I love the pink tips!
ReplyDeleteThank you! Hope your father is doing better.
DeleteThis is lovely. It may be subtle but I do really like the accent ring polish.
ReplyDeleteHope you found some goodies while shopping!
Thank you!! I didn't get a single polish! It sucks, Target didn't have much of a selection and I was too lazy to walk over to Ulta..boo me..lols
DeleteLovely sandals - and it's great with a mani that makes people think and wonder why/or did she miss a spot LOL
ReplyDeleteThank you! I don't remember why I named the post that anymore lols
DeleteI hate those days when you end up with numerous manicures you don't love. I really like this though, especially the pink stripes.
ReplyDeleteThank you! OMG it's so frustrating...my cuticles take a hit every time I use polish remover...
DeleteI hate those days! I love the tips.
ReplyDeleteThank you Paulina!
DeleteSuper-cute sandals and pedi!
ReplyDeleteHow can you stay up until 2 a.m.? What time do you wake up? Sometimes on weekends I have stayed up very late to finish a book, and I have painted my nails at close to midnight when I have to get up for work the next day. I don't think I would have any dexterity for polishing my nails after midnight, though, and normally I go to bed by about 11:30 p.m.
I usually wake up at 6am, but night time after the baby's asleep and after dinner, is the only time I have to paint my nails....-=( so that means it's always after 11 pm. Most of the time I'm finished by 12 or 1, but that night I just wasn't getting anything good, so after three tries, it was already 2!
DeleteYou are very dedicated! To our hobby *and* to your family. :-)
DeleteI use Seche Restore on my SV. I bought it at Ulta. I use it on my other fast dry top coats when they get thick, too. Makes it so I don't have to throw away any expensive quick-dry top coat.
ReplyDeleteI used the goopy SV last night and it dried just as fast or even faster than my new bottle....it was just a bitch to put on..lol
DeleteWhat I want to do is one day pour all the tiny bits remaining in a half dozen of my used top coat bottles all into just one bottle, and then use the SV Restore on that. Don't know what the best method would be for the pouring part, though.
DeleteSounds like a good idea but I'm too lazy to do that LOL plus I found a beauty store near my parents that sell SV for 6.99 instead of 10 bucks. lol
DeleteI paid $2 or so for a tiny mini bottle of SV to try it the first time. The other 2 or 3 bottles I have I got for free at Sally Beauty with a few different buy-this-and-get-SV-free offers.
DeleteThe Seche Restore was expensive, but I had a discount coupon for ULTA which is where I found it.
