Retro Gold Stripe

Anyone who subscribes to Hulu Plus, knows they play the same commercials over and over and over... So this commercial came on, I forget if it's Marshalls, or Target, but it's one of those, this girl asking if she should match her outfit to her manicure.  It only flashes her mani, and I saw these lovely jewel tones, aqua/turquoise and coral with an accent stripe between. They looked absolutely gorgeous together and I even mentioned to my Hubs that I am going to copy it.  Well, if you knew me IRL, you will know that I have a bit of what you call, um, a mommy brain.  Or what I would call, selective dyslexia lol  My numbers tend to jumble around, I could be thinking of one set of numbers, then go ahead and type or dial the same set of numbers in a totally different order.   Sometimes it happens with words also but not very often.  So mind you, in the commercial, the girl had a turquoise base, and coral tips but I guess it screwed around in my head because when I did my mani, I was so sure she had a coral base and turquoise tips. Which is what you see above! Mind you, I saw this commercial about 10 times last night and didn't realize I did the opposite until I saw it again after I finished my mani. And this must be my lucky day, because I remember the color names I used.  Maybelline Coral Crush is my base coral, Zoya Goldie is my accent stripe gold and Julep Robin is my turquoise tips. I really love these colors together. I don't have anything bad to say about it and um yeah lol I love it and I hope you guys love it too!!

Easter Eggs Pt Deux

On Easter Sunday, Munch decided to go to 8:00 PM, and the hubs went to take a nap at the same time, so it left me alone, for about 2 hours!  Which I took that free time to do a second Eastery chevron!  This time around, I used lighter, more powdery colors and added the yellow the last one so needed.  Even though my photography sucks ass, thank goodness my free hand chevrons don't!  I should've adjusted the colors better, the one holding the topcoat is the truest to color and the other three just look murky.  Anyways, hope everyone had a great Easter!  I had the best 2 hour free time any momma ever had!!

Easter Chevrons

Why hello there everybody!  The weather has been quite cold here lately and cold weather leads to lazy days at home on my days off.  I am very guilty of not doing any extracurricular activities besides my daily/weekly duties.  But this is my effort for some holiday cheer!

Happy early Easter!  I did not intend for them to look like Easter eggs, I just wanted something bring and springy.  I used all Brucci colors, don't ask me the color names, I have no clue lol  I randomly chose from my bin, colors I thought were appropriate to my "theme".  I'm getting really good at free handing chevrons, there was minimal clean up and pretty much even straight lines!  I love the end results but somehow wish I added some yellow to it.  Oh wells, that means there would be more spring time manis coming up!  I just hope it gets warmer soon, I'm tired of wearing a puffy coat.  Which reminds me, I have to get the Munch and myself light jacket for the spring.  Hope you all have a great Easter !!

Green Tea Anyone?

I can't tell you how long it's been since I've spent more than 15 minutes on my manicure. Even the fan brush art didn't take much time. I've been so tired and overwhelmed with Munch being a terror toddler that I don't have time to do anything. Especially on the nights she decides she wants doesn't want to go to bed until 11:00 PM. This is after struggling since 9:00 PM, running out of her room and me putting her back in bed 5+ times! This is what happens when you think they're old enough for a regular bed! LOL

Anyways, I saw someones cherry blossoms and thought hey that looks really cute! I tried my hands on it, it didn't come out the way I imagined in my head (which was much much neater and less amateurish), but end results were not that bad. I started with just pink flowers and dotted the middle with a reddish pink color but it didn't look right, so I went over some of them with white and added some white flowers to brighten it up. In the end, it looks decent and more daisy like than cherry blossom but you get the idea lol.

With this, I'm hoping for some warmer weather in the near future. But that might be bleak considering the snow in today's forecast. We can only hope!

Fan Brush ?

So the nail brush set my husband bought me a few years ago, had these fan brushes that I didn't know what to do with.  Then I saw this cute little mani on Pinterest that was done with a fan brush.  I figured I'd try it out too and I ended up with this.  I don't like it, it looks sloppy and weird. Maybe I'm doing it wrong.  Halona likes it though LOL  Other than the colors looking nice together, I don't see anything I like about it.

But then there's this!  I bought Milani Breezi from Lot Less for $1.00!!  They had a good selection of brands and colors, including China Glaze, ranging from $1.00-$3.00.  I would have gotten some CG also but they only had crackle colors and I'm not too into that.  I got the OPI (dim sum plum) from Duane Reade, at 75% off, which came out to $2.49, which is a pretty good deal.  I love me a bargain!!
